In the present scenario of rapid changing information technology the Singareni Collieries Company Limited is also stepping a foot ahead by starting its important functions through E.R.P (Enterprise Resources Planning) from 00.00 hours of 1^st july 2008.

In a press conference held at E.R.P Office, Kothagudem on 1^st july 2008 Director (Operations) Shri J.V. Dattatreyulu has made a mention that this day the 1^st July 2008 is day to be written in golden letters in the history of Singareni.

In all the 10 areas of SCCL, the Marketing activities i.e. Coal sales and Despatches are processed through E.R.P system from 1^st july 2008 as first phase. Further, the same will be extended to other activities like Purchase, Finance, HR, Payroll, and Stores Management.

Purchase and Stores with related Finance at Corporate Purchase Kothagudem Area and Stores of Kothagudem Area also started through E.R.P on 1^st July. Subsequently, all areas of SCCL will be covered by end of March 2009. All areas of SCCL will be doing transactions in SAP pertaining to Purchase, Finance, HR, Payroll, and Stores Management.

Director (Operations) has also mentioned about the benefits of E.R.P as follows.

Reduction in inventory – better material planning.

Faster vendor payment.

Improvement in man power productivity/right sizing.

Quicker customer accounts settlements.

Quicker sales realization / faster billing.

Transparency in coal dispatches.

Better H.R management – centralization of Employee Personal Record / Pay roll processing.

Improved decision support system.

Further he has also stated that the approximate cost of the E.R.P (SAP) project is Rs. 20 crores.

In this press conference Project Manager Shri M. Satyanarayana, SAP Project Manager Shri Shriram and other officials of SCCL and SAP have also participated.
