Other Functions

In addition to the Prescribed Jobs, of late Civil Department also entrusted to look after the following

Sanitation

This subject so far is dealt by Medical Department.With the growth of townships and general awareness for maintaining sanitation, tenders were called by Civil Engineering Department and work taken up.Q Company has taken up community Toilets maintained by Sulabh at different Colonies in all Coal Fields so far 193No,s Toilet Blocks have been provided in Colonies and 25 No.s at Mines.Q Also, Sulabh Toilet Blocks 9 No.s at Colonies and 5 No.s at Mines are in progress for Convenience of the Workers. Maintenance Cost at Rs.3, 000/- per block per month is incurred by S.C.C.L.

1.5.2. Civic maintenance tenders are finalised and works are being awarded on approved rates / through lottery at the various colonies in 24 segments.

Lifting of garbage, cleaning of drains, sanitary lines, Sweeping of Roads etc., are taken-up through these tenders by Civil Department. In a few other Colonies, such works are being attended by Health Department.

Design, Construction and commissioning of Sewage Treatment Plant are in Progress at the Following Locations:

Arrangements for National Festivals, VIPs Visits and various inaugural Functions are done by Civil Department.

EXPENDITURE

Major Works: Major works involving capital out lay as per Annual Plan are planned and executed. Construction of Quarters, Offices, Schools, Hospitals etc., are taken up. The Expenditure as per A.P. provisions made for civil works for last five years is as below:

Maintenance and Repairs Apart from new construction, Maintenance of existing Company�s Quarters, Public Buildings, Roads, Railway sidings, Hospitals, Water Supply Lines and Filter beds etc., forms an important assignment for the department.
