For implementing Condition Based Monitoring and Technical Auditing of all HEMM a separate Condition Monitoring Cell is formed with two Dy. Superintendent Engineers ( Mechanical Engg - one, Electrical Engg - one )

Condition monitoring of Draglines, 10 Cu.M. Rope Shovels and 10 Cu.M. Hydraulic Excavators, and advise the Project Engineers concerned on the trends of important parameters and also to alert the Project Engineers for taking immediate rectification action if any required.

Initiating action to procure new instruments and equipment required for monitoring important parameters like vibrations, pressures, flows and temperatures.

Ensure effective functioning of oil test laboratories started at Manuguru and OC.III, RG-III to test the drained oil samples at regular intervals.

Conducting technical auditing on draglines, shovels, dumpers, Dozers and drills and submit reports to the General Managers with suggestion for taking necessary preventive action as required. Also to follow up closely with projects for implementing the preventive action suggested.

To introduce new products like special oils, safety devices and tools to improve reliability and reduce repair time.

To modify the technical specifications of HEMM wherever required based on its experience gained while performing Technical Auditing on different systems / equipments.

To impart training to the field people on the new systems introduced/ modification carried out by OEMs.

Preparing check lists for conducting Technical auditing for the equipment for which check lists are not available.

To keep abreast with the latest developments in condition monitoring and keep in contact with the laboratory at Jayant Opencast Projects NCL

To submit monthly reports on the activities and achievements of the Technical cell to Director (Operations), Director [PA&W] and Director[E&M] through ED E&M[OCPs]to appraise C&MD.
